From Leap Of Faith To Woman Who Achieves - My Story In a Book!

A book…

It is not a place I ever thought I’d find some of my story being told.

Yet, some two years ago that was exactly what happened!

Regardless of my self-confidence, telling my own story (or at least part of it) feels a little strange, as I have always thought of myself as a story-teller for others!

I AM A WOMAN WHO 2021 BOOK

The Book!

On the book cover is Sandra Garlick MBE, creator of Woman Who.

She is someone I am proud to know, and someone who has my complete respect and admiration.

♫But She’s Got… High Hopes!♫

Hope, belief, and trust are always my go-to feelings.

Hope that I remain healthy and determined.

Belief in myself.

Trust in a greater power.

So when I wrote some of my story for this book, I wanted to concentrate on the good which carried me to this point in my life, and also tell the readers about the crazy leap of faith which turned my life around!

But Writing About My Own Life Wasn’t That Easy

It is inevitable that when writing about our own stories we get to revisit places and people we would rather forget, and I am no different from anyone else in that respect.

And as I started to write, there were a few things I was certain about:

  • I was not going to mention names

  • I was not going to express negativity towards anyone

  • I was not going to write any words about the people who hurt me

To put it simply: I wanted my story to reflect the positivity which held it all together, instead of giving any power to those who do not deserve it.

It Is Not A Biography

The book isn’t about me!

It is a collections of inspirational short stories about the lives of 31 women who overcame many challenges, in order to get to where we are today - both personally and in business.

I feel blessed and privileged to have some of my own story be told amongst those of so many wonderful human beings!

And Finally…

Since the pandemic so much has changed for all of us!

Some have felt the effects of it more severely than others. Far too many have been lost. Too many businesses and jobs have disappeared.

There has been a lot of pain.

And yet, in the midst of one of the most challenging times of all our lives, I feel incredible lucky and blessed to have grown as a business woman, to have received accolades I had never dreamt possible, and to have done far more to reach out to people, far beyond being a photographer.

This book entry is a culmination of these changes and achievements, for me, and it means a great deal to be able to share some of my journey, with all of those who will read it.

And if my story inspires at least one person not to give up, then I have a achieved a great deal!

The book was launched on the 8th March 2021, International Women’s Day, and you can order your copy HERE.
